Fastmarkets Lithium Supply and Battery Raw Materials 2022 Presentation
July 13, 2022
We have seen more good progress over recent months at Winsome Resources’ Cancet and Adina projects.
Since our last update, we released assay results from the final holes drilled at Cancet during the winter/spring campaign, identifying further high-grade lithium intersections at shallow depths.
This continues to build the opportunity for low ESG-impact, low capital cost, fast-tracked development at our flagship project and follows a second round of metallurgical testwork carried out by SGS Canada that confirmed the potential for the Cancet ore to be beneficiated to a 6% Li2O concentrate with just Dense Media Separation (DMS), resulting in a lower environmental impact.
Shallow access to ore adds to that minimised impact on surrounding land – something that is important to Winsome Resources and regulators in Quebec.
Over the Canadian summer months, field teams have been busy on site identifying and investigating new exploration targets and preparing plans for the autumn drilling campaigns at both Cancet and Adina, scheduled to commence in October.
We recently reported that an additional pegmatite outcrop had been identified at Adina, some distance from and potentially unconnected to previously identified dykes. Rock ship samples from the new outcrop have been sent for assaying with results expected in coming weeks.
Stripping back of vegetation and shallow cover over the main pegmatite dyke at Cancet has also been partially completed and channel sampling is underway to facilitate mapping of the main dyke in preparation for the next drill campaign.
Two heli-portable drill rigs – one a Reverse Circulation (RC) rig and the other a diamond rig – have been secured for mobilisation to Cancet and Adina for the upcoming campaign. The portability of the rigs ensures Winsome can drill in areas that may otherwise be inaccessible to more conventional rigs requiring land transport.
Both projects are progressing well, while the Company continues to assess and conduct initial exploration work over recent acquisitions and several new potential opportunities.
It is certainly an exciting time for Winsome Resources, and we look forward to bringing you further updates over coming months as exploration activities continue.
