Canaccord Genuity – Adina Resource potential stacking up
July 5, 2023From the Managing Director's desk
Drilling, drilling and more drilling.
Our focus remains clear and steadfast to expand the exploration campaigns at our Adina and Cancet projects continue to be implemented.
Throughout the few months we’ve had multiple drill rigs on site and a dedicated team of geologists, working to make great progress towards delivering a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for our flagship Adina Project later this year.
In an exciting development we’ve also identified a new lithium-bearing pegmatite dyke swarm at Adina in the footwall of the deposit.
This new zone of lithium mineralisation is below previous drilling and significantly changes the potential endowment at the lithium project and will contribute the maiden MRE, due later in 2023.
Further drilling is already underway to define its up-dip extent, closer to surface and we are in the process of mobilising a fourth drill rig to Adina for resource definition drilling and to inform geological and resource modelling.
We also continue to uncover high-grade lithium intersections from the Main Zone of lithium mineralisation at Adina, which all bodes well for our maiden MRE at the project and the viability of the project.
The continued positive results from our drilling campaigns at Adina and Cancet are testament to the dedicated exploration team we have on the ground in Quebec.
We also expanded our exploration footprint in mid-April with the acquisition of the Tilly Project, which is situated just 20 kilometres from the Adina Project.
This acquisition increased our tenure in Quebec’s James Bay region to 856.6km2, maintaining Winsome’s position as an exploration leader and one of the largest landholders in this highly prospective region.
Tilly has a similar geological setting to Adina, which means the initial work programs at this project can be integrated with the activity we are planning at Adina next field season.
Its proximity to our existing project area also means any discoveries can be added into the development pathway for Adina, further bolstering project economics for any future development.
As our operations continue to expand in Quebec, I am also pleased to welcome two new additions to our senior personnel, strengthening our in-country capability in Canada.
We have appointed Dr Genevieve Morinville as VP Sustainability and Regulatory Affairs and Mr Antoine Fournier as VP Exploration.
Both Genevieve and Antoine bring a wealth of experience to the Winsome team and will help drive our next phase of lithium exploration and pathway to resource development in the James Bay region.
Winsome is entering an extremely exciting phase as we start to chart our pathway from exploration to production and I look forward to keeping all shareholders and stakeholders informed as we hit new milestones on this journey.
